It has been in the works for several years, but ground will soon be broken for a new general aviation terminal at the Ocala International Airport
The existing terminal was built in 1962.
The new terminal will be 17,000 square feet and the $6 million price tag will be paid for by state and federal grants as well as airport funds.
It will include office space for the airport's fixed-base operator, airport administration, a restaurant with meeting rooms, and car rental service space.
The new terminal is expected to open in December of next year.
The groundbreaking will be October 29th.
